Windows In Motion

All Harry G. Barr windows will look beautiful and conserve energy in your home. But one of the main reasons you have windows is so you can bring fresh air in and ventilate your home. Different types of windows open in different ways, each with a unique way of freshening your living space.  Please click on a link to the right to see a small video of our windows in motion.  The videos require Apple's Quicktime Player

Single Hung Windows

This traditional window is similar to a double hung in operation, except that only the bottom sash can be opened and tilted in for easy cleaning. The classic, versatile design of our single hung series delivers traditional style and high performance at an exceptional value.

Double Hung Windows

This classic window design has two operable sashes. You an raise the bottom sash, lower the top sash, or do both at the same time. Each double hung window we make comes with a ventilation latch that can be activated to limit the distance a sash will travel, giving you peace of mind that the window will not be opened more than a few inches.

With double hung windows cleaning your windows is a breeze. Both sash tilt in so they can be cleaned easily from inside your home without the use of dangerous ladders.

Casement Windows

The modern, classy look of a casement window gives your home a very distinctive look with the benefit of maximum ventilation. The operable sash is hinged on either the right or left side and swings open to the outside. When opened fully the glass can be cleaned on both sides from inside your home.

An awning window is similar to a casement in that it’s a hinged window, but it is hinged at the top rather than the sides. It’s appropriate for many architectural styles and can be grouped together with casements to present very unique appearances.
