Insulated Glass Options
Insulated glass is 2 or more panes of glass hermetically sealed to a spacer material designed to create air pockets between the panes. These dead airspaces give insulated glass its most basic insulation properties.
Clear insulated glass with the Intercept warm edge spacer system is standard on all Harry G. Barr windows and doors, but we offer numerous upgrades to increase the energy efficiency of the windows in your home.
Low - E Glass
With our Low-e glass your windows will save you energy all year long. In the summer most of the sun's heat is blocked from coming in your home. In the winter the heat that is generated inside your home is blocked by the low-e coating and reflected back into your rooms instead of letting it escape out your old windows. Since our Low E glass is designed to work year round and in every room it's beneficial to use it throughout your house. Click here for more information on Low-e glass |

Smart Glass Options
| We’ve developed Smart Glass to allow you to choose the glass that best fits your budget and performance requirements. Not all Low-e glass performs equally. You need glass that is smart enough to block what you don’t want and allow what you do want into your home. Smart Glass does that. It blocks the sun’s heat without resorting to room darkening tinted glass. It also provides excellent insulation value in the winter time, reducing heat loss through the window and reflecting the heat you’re producing back into your home. The heat you’re paying for is kept inside. - Energy Smart (ES) glass is hard at work in the winter and summer to keep your home comfortable and save energy.
- Solar Smart (SS) glass provides the same wintertime insulation benefits with an extra measure of solar protection in the summer.
- Both ES and SS glass are smart enough to still allow a high percentage of visible daylight into your home while blocking a significant amount of UV rays, protecting you in all seasons.

You can raise the performance to an even higher level with our Smart Glass 2 options. Produced using Superspacer's No-Metal spacer system and argon gas in the airspace, Energy Smart 2 (ES2) and Solar Smart 2 (SS2) keeps the glass surface as warm as possible. This helps to reduce condensation and gives you our lowest possible U-value . |
